Any agent that can make HTTP requests can connect with a device code: it shows you a short code, you approve it on vidpal.ai, and it receives a token. The copy-paste quickstart lives in your Vidpal account under Claude & AI agents.

OAuth, not API keys

You sign in with your Vidpal account inside Claude's connector flow. We never hand out a long-lived secret, and there is nothing to paste into a config file.

Your plan, your credits

Every tool runs the same checks as the dashboard: credits, plan limits, rate limits, and ownership. Claude cannot do anything your account could not do itself.

Asks before it spends

Tools that spend credits or publish are marked as such, so Claude confirms before exporting, generating, or posting. Reads are free and unlimited.

Disconnect in one click

Account → Connected apps lists every app and agent holding access, with a Disconnect button next to each. Revoking takes effect immediately.

Vidpal for Claude FAQ

What is the Vidpal connector for Claude?

It is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server hosted by Vidpal. Once you add it in Claude, Claude gains 25 tools for uploading footage, editing it, extracting clips, generating videos from a topic or article, exporting, and publishing to Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok — all against your own Vidpal account.

Is the connector free?

Yes. The connector is available on every Vidpal plan, including Free. The tools spend your normal credits exactly as the dashboard does — one credit for a portrait export, for example — so there is no separate charge for using Vidpal from Claude.

Will Claude spend my credits without asking?

No. Every tool that spends credits or publishes is flagged as destructive in the MCP catalog, and its description says so. Claude asks for confirmation before running those tools. Reading video status, listing clips, or checking a scheduled post costs nothing.

Does it work with ChatGPT, Claude Code, or other agents?

Yes. The same MCP URL works in Claude on the web and desktop, in Claude Code with a one-line command, and in ChatGPT through its connector settings. Headless agents that cannot open a browser can connect with a device-code flow: the agent shows a short code, you approve it on vidpal.ai, and it receives a token.

Can Claude publish to Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube for me?

Yes, on the Pro and Business plans, which include publishing. Connect your social accounts once in Vidpal, then ask Claude to publish now or schedule for a specific time. Claude reports back with the post status and can cancel a scheduled post that has not gone out.

How do I disconnect Claude from Vidpal?

Open Account in Vidpal and scroll to Connected apps. Every app and agent with access is listed with a Disconnect button. You can also remove the connector from Claude's own settings. Either way, access ends immediately and nothing in your account is deleted.
