Three rows usually decide it. If you want AI-generated motion, avatars or a cloned voice, Revid is ahead. If LinkedIn matters, or your scripts must come from real articles rather than viral references, Vidpal is ahead. On price, both charge $39 for the first plan that publishes, so the deciding factor is how many credits your kind of video burns, which we work through below.

What Is Revid.ai?

Revid.ai is an AI video platform that turns an idea, a link or a proven viral format into a finished short-form video and publishes it to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

Revid started in Paris in 2023 as Typeframes, a tool for SaaS launch videos, and took the Revid name in April 2024. Its own fact sheet describes it as built for founders and small business owners first, and says more than 30,000 videos a month are published to social platforms through it (Revid AI instructions). The product combines several AI video models under one credit system, a timeline editor, direct publishing, Auto-Mode automation and a public API, MCP server and command-line tool.

The part that sets Revid apart is its starting point. It keeps a searchable library of about 2.77 million short-form videos and posts with their public engagement numbers, and it lets you remix one into an original video: same energy with a new script, the same hook style applied to your topic, a Part 2, or a restyle of the footage. Its workflows also cover prompt to video, article to video, YouTube long video to Shorts, music videos, talking avatars and video podcasts.

What Is Vidpal?

Vidpal is an AI video app for faceless short-form creators that writes, voices, captions and renders Shorts, Reels and TikToks, and on Pro and Business publishes them for you.

Vidpal Studio turns a topic, a full script or a URL into a narrated video: Shorts of 30, 45, 60, 75 or 90 seconds, or long videos of 1 to 10 minutes on paid plans. Auto Reels is the autopilot: you set topics, Vidpal pulls stories from RSS feeds, Hacker News and web search, writes a script grounded in the real article, picks among hook variants and renders a 9:16 Reel on a schedule. AI Clips cuts long recordings into short clips, AI Editing cleans up your own footage, Image Posts makes Instagram carousels, and every finished render can be published or scheduled from Vidpal, with the optional Social Scheduler writing the post copy for you.

Vidpal is not an avatar or talking-presenter tool, it does not clone voices (that feature was retired in May 2026), and it does not generate full AI video for every scene. Its visuals are stock footage, AI images with camera motion, or looping background clips, with an optional generated clip as the hook.

Which Tool Actually Posts for You?

Both do, but Revid includes publishing on its entry plan and runs automation as daily workers, while Vidpal reserves publishing for Pro and Business and adds LinkedIn.

Revid publishes to TikTok, YouTube (Shorts and standard videos) and Instagram Reels once you connect accounts, and it can POST a finished video to any webhook for custom pipelines. You can publish right away or add a video to a scheduling queue. Each Auto-Mode worker is configured once with a workflow, a content source such as a prompt, a feed or a niche, and creation settings; it then generates one video a day and can auto-publish it or send it to a webhook. Growth includes 3 workers, Elite 5 and Ultra 10, and publishing itself doesn't use credits (Revid publishing and automation).

Vidpal splits the job in two. Auto Reels renders Reels from your topics on a schedule and, on Pro or Business, auto-publishes them; topic limits are 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, 25 on Pro and 50 on Business, and Free renders carry a watermark. Everything else you make has a Publish panel that posts now or schedules up to 90 days ahead to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or LinkedIn, and publishing costs no credit. The optional Social Scheduler preparation adds per-platform copy written from the transcript and one 16:9 AI thumbnail for 1 credit per post, and its best-time suggestions come from platform benchmarks, not an analysis of your audience.

The practical differences are LinkedIn, which only Vidpal posts to (useful for B2B and founder accounts, see how to make LinkedIn videos with AI), and the entry tier, where Revid's $39 plan publishes and Vidpal's $19 Starter does not. Revid's webhooks are a plus for developers wiring their own distribution.

Where Do the Scripts Come From? Viral Formats vs Real Articles

Revid grounds scripts in videos that already performed, and Vidpal grounds them in the article or story the video is about.

Revid's fact sheet says that when it writes a script from a prompt in automations and several tools, it first retrieves transcripts of related TikToks with more than 10,000 likes and uses them as references for style and story. Its Search & Remix automation goes further, picking a high-engagement reference from the library on a schedule and generating an original video from it. You can also paste a link to an article, a YouTube or TikTok video, an X post or a Reddit thread and Revid turns it into a script (Revid AI instructions).

Vidpal's Auto Reels starts from the news side. It finds stories that match your topics in RSS feeds, Hacker News and web search, writes the script from the real article, and chooses among several hook variants before rendering. Studio's From URL input does the same for a single page you pick.

Which approach is better depends on your niche. For entertainment, motivation or product content, borrowing the structure of proven videos is a sensible shortcut. For news, tech, finance or science, the facts are the product, and a script tied to a specific source is easier to check before it posts. Our guide to making news videos with AI explains how to keep that kind of channel accurate.

Visuals, Voices and Captions Compared

Revid has the wider generative range and voice catalogue, and Vidpal has the deeper caption library.

Revid's visuals can be stock video, AI images with optional animation, full AI video, your own media or gameplay backgrounds. AI video comes in Low, Pro and Ultra tiers plus Seedance 2.5, MiniMax Hailuo H3, Wan 3.0 and Google Veo 3, with 40+ style presets and trainable characters that keep the same face across videos (Revid features guide). Voices number 1,000+ across 70+ languages, with cloning and voice design on Elite and above.

Vidpal keeps one look per video. You choose Stock Footage, AI Generated Images in one of 20 styles (natural, cinematic, 3D cartoon, anime, manga, comic, stickman, storybook, claymation, paper cutout, isometric, watercolor, pencil sketch, line drawing, flat vector, graffiti, pixel art, oil painting, neon or cubism), Gameplay Videos or Oddly Satisfying Videos. AI images are stills with camera motion. The Hook Intro can open with a library clip, a Text → Video clip from Wan 2.2, or a 5-second Image → Video clip, for 1 extra credit only when it succeeds. Voices are system voices grouped by language with previews; Studio narration is in English, and the Translate panel adds captions in 30 languages and dubbing in 8, without lip-sync.

Captions flip the comparison. Revid's captions guide lists 16 presets, such as Hormozi, Faceless, Bold Punch and Beat, with alignment and font controls, and its October fact sheet mentions 30 caption styles (Revid captions guide). Vidpal has 75 presets, including Mozi, Beasty, Karaoke, Hook Punch and Highlighter Box, about 18 animations such as Karaoke Pop and Word Punch, and a Lines control for one word, three words or automatic grouping. A Brand Kit locks your logo, colors, caption preset and font across videos.

How Much Does Revid.ai Cost Compared With Vidpal?

Both charge $39 a month for the first plan that publishes, but Revid's credits are priced per second of media and model while Vidpal's are priced per finished video.

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyCredits a monthNotes
Revid Growth$39$32/mo2,000Publishing, 3 Auto-Mode workers, API, MCP and CLI
Revid Elite$89$74/mo5,000Voice cloning, 5 workers

Vidpal Pro$39$23/mo ($276/yr)40Publishing (no credit per post), auto-publish, Scheduler
Vidpal Business$69$41/mo ($492/yr)100Everything in Pro, 4K for uploads

Revid's pricing page also shows a Hobby card at the same price as Growth that lists creation features without the credits, publishing or workers, so Growth is the plan to compare (Revid pricing). Revid's credit reference puts a typical 30-second video with Pro moving images and a voiceover at about 40 to 50 credits, the same 30 seconds in Low-tier AI video at about 100, and in Veo 3 at 600 or more; 4K export adds 10 credits, plan credits don't roll over, and booster packs start at 1,000 credits for $49 (Revid credit costs). Its pricing FAQ gives a wider 40 to 80 credits per video, or roughly 25 to 50 videos from Growth's 2,000.

Vidpal's math is flatter. A Studio Short is 1 credit, reserved when you click Generate, a long video of 1 to 10 minutes is 5, a carousel is 1, the first export is free and a re-render after changes costs again. Publishing costs nothing; only the optional Scheduler preparation (per-platform copy and an AI thumbnail) adds 1 credit per post. Annual plans grant the year's credits upfront.

A worked example: 30 published Shorts a month. On Revid, Pro-image videos at 40 to 66 credits each fit inside Growth's 2,000 credits, about $1.30 per Short at $39 or $1.07 billed yearly, with publishing included; switch to Low-tier AI video at about 100 credits each and 30 videos need roughly 3,000 credits, which means Elite at $89 or a $49 booster. On Vidpal, 30 Shorts made in Studio and published from the Publish panel use 30 credits, which fits Pro's 40 at $39 a month, or $23 billed annually: about $1.30 or $0.77 per Short, with 10 credits spare for re-renders, hook clips or optional Scheduler preparation.

So at 30 stock or AI-image Shorts a month, the two cost about the same on monthly billing, roughly $1.30 per published video, and Vidpal is cheaper billed annually ($0.77 against $1.07). Revid's 2,000 credits leave more headroom if your videos stay around 40 to 50 credits each, while Vidpal's flat price wins once you would use Revid's AI video tiers, where per-second pricing climbs fast, or if you don't need publishing yet (Starter at $19). Extra Tools: Avatars, Clips, Editing and Carousels

Revid's extras lean toward generation and developers, and Vidpal's lean toward repurposing your own footage and Instagram formats.

Revid adds talking avatars, multi-speaker video podcasts, face swap, music videos from a song, a Series Maker for episodes with recurring characters, and an Add Caption to Video tool that captions uploads and can insert b-roll. Its YouTube Long to Shorts workflow takes a YouTube link and returns highlight clips, with auto-reframing for 10 credits. Every paid plan includes the REST API, an MCP server with 30 tools and a CLI, and teams can share a workspace and credits. Its editor exports at 720p, 1080p or 4K at 30 or 60 fps (Revid editor guide).

  • AI Clips: upload a recording of up to 120 minutes on a paid plan (10 minutes on Free, analysis only). An AI editor picks standalone, non-overlapping moments that open with a hook, inside the clip length you choose, and gives each a 3-8 word hook, a one-sentence reason and a 0-100 score relative to that transcript. Cost: 1 credit per started 10 minutes of source plus 1 per rendered clip.
  • AI Editing: silence and filler-word removal, auto zooms, auto b-roll, captions, Smart Reframe from landscape to vertical, Translate and Pro Editor overlays, plus an AI thumbnail and AI hook title for uploads. Export at 1080p, 2K on Pro and Business, 4K on Business.
  • Image Posts: Instagram carousels with a hook slide, 3-5 body slides and a CTA slide at 1080×1350, 1 credit each.
  • Claude connector: Vidpal works inside Claude, so you can clip, caption and schedule from a chat.

If you mostly repurpose podcasts, webinars or streams, AI Clips and AI Editing are the reason to look at Vidpal; our podcast-to-clips workflow shows them on a real recording. If you want avatars or an API to wire into your own app, Revid covers ground Vidpal doesn't.

Is Revid.ai Worth It?

Revid.ai is worth it if you want generative AI video, many voices and languages, and publishing in one $39 plan, and less so if you need LinkedIn, article-grounded news scripts or clipping from your own long uploads.

Its strengths are real: frontier models under one credit system, a large viral-reference library, 1,000+ voices, avatars, Auto-Mode workers on every paid plan and a developer surface few competitors match. The trade-offs are cost predictability once you use AI video tiers, the lack of a published watermark policy for its free credits, a captions library smaller than Vidpal's, and publishing limited to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Revid itself says it is less suited to people who only want to edit their own footage by hand.

Who Should Pick Revid.ai and Who Should Pick Vidpal?

Choose by what your channel publishes most and where it publishes.

Choose Revid.ai if any of these fit:

  • You want AI-generated motion in every scene, with Seedance, MiniMax or Veo.
  • You need narration in many languages, your own cloned voice, or avatars.
  • You like starting from proven viral formats and remixing them.
  • You are a developer or run AI agents that need an API, MCP server or CLI.
  • Several teammates share one workspace and credit balance.

Choose Vidpal if these fit better:

  • You run a faceless news, tech, finance or explainer page where scripts should come from real articles.
  • LinkedIn is one of your channels, alongside Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
  • You want a fixed cost of 1 credit per Short, or a $19 plan while you test.
  • You also turn podcasts, webinars or streams into clips, or clean up talking-head footage.
  • You want 75 caption presets and a Brand Kit applied across everything.

For a faceless channel that should mostly run itself, Vidpal's loop is Auto Reels for the daily output, Studio for planned videos in one of 20 styles, and the Publish panel for anything else you want posted. You can start free on Vidpal with 4 credits and up to three Auto Reels topics, then compare plans on the pricing page. If you are also weighing AutoShorts and Crayo, the three-way comparison covers them.

How to Run a Fair Two-Week Test

Run both tools on the same niche for two weeks and judge them on published results, not first impressions.

Step 1: Pick one niche and one test account per platform, so an experiment doesn't affect your main page.

Step 2: On Revid Growth, configure one Auto-Mode worker for the niche with a prompt or feed, and review its first videos before you let it publish.

Step 3: On Vidpal Pro, add three to five Auto Reels topics for the same niche, connect the same platforms for publishing, and review the first renders before auto-publishing.

Step 4: Log credits used per published video in both tools, including re-renders, hook clips and 4K exports.

Step 5: After 14 days, compare views and average watch time per video in the first 48 hours, how many videos needed a manual fix, any factual errors, and the minutes you spent each day.

Step 6: Keep the tool that produced more watchable, accurate videos per dollar and per hour. Our explainer on whether AI can run a YouTube channel on autopilot covers what realistic results look like.

Risks of Auto-Posting, Whichever Tool You Use

Auto-posting saves hours, but an unreviewed autopilot is the fastest way to post something wrong or repetitive.

  • Repetition: YouTube's monetization policies say content shouldn't be mass-produced, generic or repetitive, and call this “inauthentic content” since July 2025 (YouTube Help).
  • Disclosure: YouTube requires creators to disclose realistic AI-generated or altered content (YouTube Help). Realistic AI footage is the kind most likely to need the label, whichever tool made it.
  • Accuracy: viral-reference scripts and article-based scripts can both get facts wrong. Read before it posts.
  • Credit burn: on per-second pricing, one premium-model video can cost as much as a dozen simpler ones.
  • Sameness: one worker or topic producing the same format daily will flatten your retention. Rotate formats and hooks.

Our guides to YouTube automation and monetizing AI videos on YouTube go deeper on staying inside the rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Revid.ai post automatically to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube? Yes. Revid publishes to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram Reels on every paid plan, can schedule posts through a queue, and runs Auto-Mode workers that each create one video a day and can auto-publish it. Growth includes 3 workers, Elite 5 and Ultra 10. It does not list LinkedIn as a publishing destination.

How much does Revid.ai cost in 2026? As of October 23, 2026, Revid Growth costs $39 a month or $32 billed yearly for 2,000 credits, Elite $89 or $74 for 5,000, and Ultra $199 or $166 for 12,000, with higher-volume tiers up to 200,000 credits. New accounts get free credits on sign-up, and booster packs start at 1,000 credits for $49.

Is Revid.ai cheaper than Vidpal? It depends on billing and visuals. At 30 published stock or AI-image Shorts a month, both $39 plans work out to about $1.30 per Short, and billed annually Vidpal Pro is cheaper at about $0.77 against Revid's $1.07. Revid costs more once you use its AI video tiers, and Vidpal's $19 Starter is cheaper if you don't need publishing.

Does Vidpal have something like Revid's Auto-Mode? Yes. Vidpal's Auto Reels takes your topics, pulls stories from RSS feeds, Hacker News and web search, writes a script grounded in the real article, picks among hook variants and renders a 9:16 Reel on a schedule. On Pro and Business it auto-publishes. Revid's workers instead create one video a day each from a prompt, feed or niche.

Can Revid.ai post to LinkedIn? Revid's publishing documentation lists TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, plus webhooks for custom pipelines, and does not list LinkedIn as of October 2026. Vidpal publishes to Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn on the Pro and Business plans at no credit cost, and its optional Social Scheduler can write per-platform copy from the transcript.

Does Revid.ai add a watermark? Revid's pricing page and documentation don't publish a watermark policy as of October 2026; they say new accounts get free credits to try creation and regular creation uses a paid plan's credits. Vidpal adds a “Made with Vidpal” watermark only to renders on its Free plan, where Auto Reels and Image Posts are the formats that render.

Which is better for a faceless news channel? Vidpal is the stronger fit for news, tech and finance pages, because Auto Reels finds stories in RSS feeds, Hacker News and web search and writes each script from the real article. Revid can turn a specific article link into a video and run workers from a feed, but its scripts lean on viral TikTok references for style.
